The sightseeing in Port Alice is also unbeatable. As you troll down the inlet, you can see eagles, seals, orcas, and grey whales.
The community is set in the majestic mountains on the West Coast. Logging roads lead into the mountains for more exploration and camping. There is abundant wildlife—bears, deer and cougars will tease the best photographs out of you. Come visit Port Alice! See you soon!

I take along my camera every time I leave the house—the south Okanagan Valley is such a beautiful place, you just never know what you'll see. There are breathtaking views from Anarchist Mountain of Lake Osoyoos. There are orchards in bloom, vineyards displaying their fruit in late summer, wineries galore with interesting views. There are rare species of wildlife, including painted turtles, salamanders, snakes, horses, Bighorn sheep, and bears, plus lakes, golf courses, nooks and crannies teaming with wild flowers and plants indigenous to our area. I am so grateful to live in this area of Canada. It gives me solitude, tranquility, and a place to call home. B.C. has given me a new lease on life; I've become more health conscious and more active. Time to go out for a walk with my camera to take more pictures of this beautiful "desert" area I call Home!

I visited Victoria in 2006 with my sister from the Netherlands. It was a spectacular long weekend away. I found the city to be extremely wheelchair friendly. I had no trouble navigating the city streets. The people are hospitable, friendly, and extremely helpful. The harbour is a must-see; watching the activity of floatplanes and other water traffic is exciting.
The Parliament building is another great attraction. What an experience. It is a history lesson in itself to visit; walking the halls of this magnificent building and exploring the grounds is very worthwhile. The many stained-glass windows of the House were spectacular.
Walking through the streets of Victoria, visiting the many attractions, exploring gift shops, and, of course, taking in the street entertainment was all wonderful. The Christmas Store is a must, as is Butchart Gardens, with its spectacular gardens. The grounds of Butchart are magnificent and very wheelchair friendly. Taking a ferry ride across to Victoria from the mainland is also exhilarating. You just might see some whales!
Yes, visiting Victoria, B.C.'s capital city, is a must. You won't be disappointed!
